Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  – Genesis 3:1-5

Watching a Dave Ramsey video about how sales people work, he said that when a perspective customer asks a question, the sales person should answer it with a question to get more information and make the sale. For example, if the customer asks about the gas mileage of a car, the sales person could ask, “Do you travel a lot?” The information given from a question like this would enable the sales person to point out more benefits of the car that will meet that perceived needs of the customer. The more desires they realize, the more the sales person has to work with to meet those needs.

The world tries to woo us with questions of how we should live and what we really want from life. The doubts that rise from the questions make us wonder if we really are moving in the right direction. Something we have learned as truth from God may become distorted in viewing it through the world’s lenses. Unless we keep our God glasses on, and see things his way, we can be filled with doubts and fall off the road meant for us to travel.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for your wisdom to help me walk through today. The pure truth I desire only comes from you. Amen

Faith Tip: Read God’s word first and live it in the world; and not read the world first and try to fit it in the Bible.

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).

The leaves are dancing outside as the wind gusts through the trees. The pine trees sway to the rhythm of the wind. I’m not seeing any morning birds and I wonder if they have cancelled their flights in fear of the strong gales. None of us can see the wind, but we can feel it and see its affects.

Jesus said that the Spirit is a lot like the wind. You can’t see the Spirit, but you can definitely feel it at work inside of you and others. You see the affects of the Spirit as lives are changed and signs of the kingdom are more evident than before. Allow the wind of the Spirit blow wherever it pleases in your life. Let your heart dance in response. Spread your wings and soar!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for your Spirit that resides in me. I pray that I may allow the wind of your Spirit to reign in all I do. I want to soar with you. Amen

Faith Tip: Connect with God’s Spirit today and see where he wants you to soar. He will be the wind beneath your wings.
