Don’t leave home without them

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”- 2 Corinthians 13:14

Some of us older folk remember Karl Malden telling us the benefits of traveler’s checks, and that we should “not leave home without them.” While that is very good advice for the traveler, there is something better that we carry with us daily. The Apostle Paul points it out in 2 Corinthian 13:14. We carry with us the grace of Jesus. Grace is a powerful thing. Grace allows us to be children of God. We are the saints who sin against God. But because of the powerful love of God that we also carry with us, God provided a way for us to be forgiven forever. God’s love covers us. His banner over us is love (Song of Solomon 2:4).

So we carry the grace of Jesus and the love of God wherever we go. Since our God is a Trinity, the Holy Spirit also gives us fellowship. In fellowship, we can express the grace and love given to us with the Spirit empowering us to do so. The benefits of grace, love and fellowship are endless. Don’t leave home without them.

Prayer: Holy God, you have gifted me with these precious gifts and I thank you for them. Forgive me when I take them for granted and don’t use them. I pray that I will continually be aware of opportunities to live out these gifts to your glory. Amen

Faith tip: Be aware of the opportunities of showing grace, love and fellowship with another and then do it.
