Brighter than the stars at night

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” – Matthew 14-15 The Message

My sister in the Lord, Cindy, and me.

Last night, I witnessed God at work. A lovely lady, Cindy Bultema, had a premiere of her documentary He Loves Me at a local theatre. You can watch this Day of Discovery episode on Mother’s Day, May 13, at 7:30 a.m. on ION Television Network. You will be amazed at how God has worked through Cindy. Even though there were  tragedies in her life and bad choices made by her, Jesus put the pieces of her broken heart back together. That’s a story that needs to be shared. The theatre was full of her friends and supporters as she talked about her journey before the viewing.  It was awesome to see the support of the Body of Christ given to her. Her light is shining brightly of a God who still does miracles.

What does God want us to show of the work he has done in our lives? Many times we think we need to hide our weaknesses from people and give an image of strength and being “good,” but actually God’s light shines brighter if we are honest about who we are and what Jesus has done for us.

Prayer: I thank you, Lord, for the way you make us shine brightly with the light you give us. I pray that I don’t hide it in anyway, but be bold in showing who you are to all. Amen

Faith Tip: Keeping something under wraps that God wants to work through to shine for his glory? Pray about how Jesus can help you into victory over the situation.
