Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth. – Ephesians 1:7-10 The Message
I recently saw a church sign that read, “Jesus paid the price and we get the change.” Although I understand the play on words, I really wonder about the change we get. Is it a few coins worth or more? Does my life reflect the change given from the price of the cross?
There is an abundance of riches given to us from the resurrection. The wealth of Christ is a lot more than I can list. We normally think about being free from sin and living with God, but there is so much more that we can experience today from the vast treasures of God. If we look around us and see, really taking note of, the many things God has put in our lives knowing that it is part of the big plan in which he has made us a part … we will experience the fullness of Christ.
Prayer: Lord, how can it be that you did all this for me? I praise you for your unending grace and mercy. I pray that I live in the richness of you and not like a pauper. Amen
