For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
Since ancient times no one has heard,
no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. – Isaiah 64:3-4
I have some friends that are going through a challenging time with cancer, surgery, treatment and more surgery. It’s so difficult on both the patient and the caregiver. It’s amazing when things can look so bleak, God steps in and his light shines brightly on the situation. I love it when God does that. It gives me such hope. It teaches me who is in control. It allows me to experience the love of God that differs so much from the love of the world.
It’s encouraging to know that every day, God shows up in our lives. Do we notice how he takes care of the details? The bigger focus is on what God can do, not what we can do. The comparison is like an ocean to a mud puddle. The God who created all things acts on our behalf … if we will wait for him. Waiting can be hard, but waiting expectantly brings peace as we know that God’s timing is perfect.
Prayer: Lord of all time, I praise you for your magnificent work in our lives. All other gods in my life fail miserably in comparison to you. I pray that I can wait expectantly today for your hand to move. Amen
Faith Tip: Watch for God today with expectancy.
