Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. – James 3:13-16
Networking in groups is a beneficial practice for all. This is where the truth of helping others grow helps the whole group grow, which helps us individually grow. I see this happening in my writing group, small group, cancer support group and in the church. Building one another up is glorifying to God. If there is a seed planted of jealousy or self-focus, division is on the radar. This is the work of Satan and does not honor God.
There is a way to protect ourselves from the bad seeds of thought by choosing to be wise. Wisdom comes from God and when we talk to the Lord in the morning that is the perfect time to declare your choice of following God with your heart, mind and actions. Invite God to help you throughout the day for you are never left alone.
Prayer: I thank you, Lord, for giving me your wisdom when I ask for it. I pray that I am obedient to you in everything I do today. I pray that I will give you all the glory you so rightly deserve. Amen
