Flavored with Love

If I speak in the tonguesof men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. – 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Last night, I had the opportunity to share some insights regarding priorities with a wonderful group of women. Meeting new family members of the Christ household is always an encouragement to me. In preparing my talk, there was some research, lots of prayer, perhaps a bit of humor sprinkled in, but the most important ingredient is an attitude of love. That’s what makes it most worthwhile to me, too. What I do is meaningless unless I take the love God has given to me and pour it out on the ones he brings into my world.

We all have opportunities each day to show God’s love in all we do. That’s the vital part of doing anything. We have been given 24 hours today. There is no guarantee that we have tomorrow to act with love, so we must do our utmost today.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the great love that you shower on me today. I pray that I can receive your love fully and shower it on those I see today. Amen

Faith Tip: Receive it and shower it.
