Be yourself … be real

Mask

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. – Acts 16:25

Oh, what fun we had as a drama team during Vacation Bible School last night. We were waiting behind a wall for our cue to come out and be somebody else. We enjoyed performing for the children and then asking them questions and talking with them afterwards. This is all to help them understand about God’s love for them and how exciting it is that we can’t contain the message. We need to tell someone. Just like Paul and Silas prayed and sang from their hearts and the prisoners were listening, we also are being listened to in what we say. What are we saying?

Our life is real and we need to be real with our message in what or who we are excited about. Acting out what we think people want to hear is not sharing authentically. There is a time to take the mask off and show others who we really are in Christ. This will be your most powerful message because God will use it for the kingdom plan. Step out in faith and be vulnerable to be honest with others. The great thing about this is that you will also give them opportunity to be real in the name of Christ.

Prayer: I thank you, Jesus, for the opportunities you give me to share you. It is truly exciting to be a part of your family and plan. I pray that I will take my mask off when I need to be real. Amen

Faith Tip: Decide how you really feel about God and what he has done. Are you excited? Share your excitement … it’s contagious.
