Wise choice

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5

What should we have for dinner tonight? Grilled chicken breast with roasted veggies or Mario’s pizza? Don’t we wish these were the toughest decisions we had to make? Life can be a lot more challenging than that. Everyday there are choices to be made that may make a small or large impact on our life and the lives of others. Sometimes we just don’t realize the impact of our choices. We can’t possibly see the full effects of our decisions. That’s why we need God is the process. God can see it all and knows what will benefit the kingdom.

How do we feel about asking God for wisdom? Is pride holding us back from a good decision? The wall of pride must come down to be effective for God. When we realize it is God who is in control of all things and has the plans in hand, we can go and seek correct direction from the Lord. Wisdom is a wonderful gift that is given generously by God. We just have to ask.

Prayer: Dear God, I praise you for the wisdom you have bestowed on me at times of need. You have been so faithful. I pray that I seek your counsel in all challenges in life. To your glory! Amen

Faith Tip: What decisions are weighing on your heart today? Seek God for wisdom and obey.

  1. I appreciate your devotions so much. My edit would add…
seek direction from God, our Lord. My former students do not know that God and Lord are one. So if by chance, your writing happens onto a seeker, They won’t wonder , “who is this other name?”
Of course, the choir, likes your thoughtful helpings of His Word.
