Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky – Philippians 2:14-15
I join a team of people a couple of times a year for weekend retreats to serve people coming on the retreat. Serving the guests is important, but it is just as important to serve one another. Having a large group of people together for a weekend could be stressful if the focus was on ourselves and what we wanted. As long as we seek God together and put on our servant’s cloak, we will stay away from arguing and complaining for we know that doesn’t come from the Spirit of God. Loving one another is evident and witnessed by others. In a dark world, we shine like stars when we show love to others.
Others are drawn to the beauty of the love shown to one another in a consistent manner. People want to live this type of life with community. It goes against what the world says we are to do, which is to make sure we have our rights. Taking ourselves off the throne and putting Christ there will enable all of us servants to serve joyfully. People want to experience that love and joy. Be part of the community of shining stars for Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the community of fellow believers that you have placed me in. I pray that I can shine without any bad attitude. Amen
Faith Tip: Destroy anything that does not bring praise to God. You don’t need it.
