“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9
We always think we know best, don’t we? From life experiences, we plan our next steps. In ministry, we plan on how we will bring people through the church doors. We set up programs, advertising, special music, or anything else that we feel will make a perfect formula for outreach. God is the only formula we need. As long as we are focused on God and seeking his face, he will work through us in amazing ways.
Receiving the vision from God is the only way we can successfully run in ministry. The vision may not be what we would come up with any may be “out of the box” for some. That’s where trust and obedience come in, even when we don’t understand. God will show us the plan when he is ready for us to see it.
We need to trust that God knows exactly all that will happen and has planned it perfectly. We can follow with confidence if we trust. God sees the whole picture while our sight is limited. Walking in obedience will bring enlightenment.
Prayer: Your ways are good, Lord. Thank you for always having the perfect plan. I pray that I may walk in your plan and not my own. Amen
