He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. – Deuteronomy 8:15

Being tested has always made me nervous. Being put on the spot to answer questions correctly would cause my brain to freeze. The anxiety would affect my performance on tests. I would most likely be able to give the right responses if in regular conversation, but there is a feeling of pressure in answering at the moment to see if you know the facts.

In life, there are moments of testing. God gives us opportunity to show what we know. There’s no pressure for God is dependable. If we don’t do it right the first time, we’ll be given another chance until we get it. He cheers us on as we grow into the person planned—not more loved for we are already greatly loved, so this is not a love based on performance. It is a plan for us to be the best we can be and be able to shine God’s light brightly.

Prayer: I pray that you test me, Lord, to show how you have worked in my life and areas where I still need growth. Amen

Faith Tip: Do you have a struggle today? Use this as an opportunity to be tested. Celebrate and be thankful for the growth experienced.

  1. At first I thought the title meant you were trying something we learned in our class last Tuesday night! :>)
I have seen people cringe at the prospect of an upcoming test. With God at our side, it’s true that the present day’s concerns are enough. Tomorrow is a new day under God’s grace!

    • Thank you, Terry. I remember thinking a few days ago that life seemed relatively calm….and then the next day happened. :o) You are right in saying that each day is an opportunity to experience God’s grace perhaps in a new way. Blessings!
