He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:18-20)
My husband and I love to play pinochle with friends and family, and there is nothing like the feeling of having a double run in your hand before the point bidding begins. You know that the game is all yours because the score is 150, which ends the game. While this is rare, I did experience this once. I bid with boldness and joy already experiencing the victory.
Satan is defeated. We are already told that in God’s word. Do we live with the boldness and joy in knowing we have the victory? We can experience the victory now know that. In Christ, our names are written in heaven. This is the most important victory ever—nothing measures up to this fact.
Sometimes we lose sight of the victory that is ours by other distractions in life that tear away at us, bring us down, and cause pain. This is part of Satan’s plan to try to convince us that we are losing the war. Remember, we are Easter people and every day we can live in the victory of Christ…Alleluia! Amen!
Faith tip: Consider how you can demonstrate today the victory that is yours in Christ.
