Open spaces

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

Traveling to Philadelphia, I am driving through Ohio and notice so many open spaces. These open spaces are for farming or just undeveloped and enjoyable to the eye. There is a sense of freedom in open spaces. There is freedom for wildlife, for nature, or hikes through the woods. Anything is possible in freedom. Freedom feels so good.

Christ wants us to be free. He doesn’t want us to be a slave to anything. As much as we like freedom, we are normally the ones that put ourselves into slavery. Christ is our true Master. We need not bow down to anything else.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for the freedom you have given us. I pray that I can free myself from bondages in this life to freely serve you. Amen.

Faith Tip: Consider the ways you have made yourself a slave to the world. Let Christ set you free.
