Feasting on God’s Word

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”(Matthew 4:4)

I have been attempting to eat healthier foods, and in doing so, I am always looking for healthy recipes. One item of food I have been eating on almost a daily basis is kale. Kale is a wonderful source of vitamins, antioxidants, and other good things. Preparation of kale can be done in several ways, but I prefer to use it in a smoothie recipe. In drinking the smoothie, I hope to help my body be as healthy and strong as possible.

My spiritual health is more important. Jesus knew that as important as it is to have our daily bread, it is far more important to feed on God’s word. Daily intake of scripture is needed to build up our minds, hearts and souls for God, building us into strong disciples that can ward off evil. To stand strong takes daily doses of God’s good word for you.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray that not a day goes by that I do not feed on your word and apply it to my life. In doing so, may my life be a reflection of you. Amen

Faith Tip: As you read God’s word, pray for applying what you read into your life. Let God’s word make a difference to you.
